REVIEW of SKIN by Dale Mayer
REVIEW - 5 stars
Wow, what an amazing book by Dale Mayer. This is the first book that I have read by Dale, and I can say that I am absolutely hooked. This book is about healing, helping others, and love that will find you no matter if you think that you can have it or not. This is a new twist on the way that love can be for two people who have been hurt in different ways.
Tania, the main character, wants to overcome her past so that she can find love and have the family that she so rightly deserves. Yet, she cannot do this due to a past traumatic event. So, she attends a particular program to learn how to move past what happened to her. She never expects that she really can overcome her past or even find love.
Kane is a cop and a tough guy, who is using anger to keep alive the thing that hurt him and is keeping him from moving on and having a normal relationship. He does not want to be at the program that his brother talked him into attending. However, what Tania and Kane do not know is that they will help each other to move on.
Dale Mayer does a great job telling their story and showing the reader a side of love that you may not normally read in a book.
What I love about the book is that every woman wants the man that can love her unconditionally--whether she is whole or broken, and that every man wants a woman who can be completely honest with him. You will learn what true love really is and that no matter how broken you are, love is just around the corner.
I cannot wait to read the next book and find out whose story is next. I highly recommend that you read this book. You will laugh, cry, and fall in love with the story.
