Compendium is a true fantasy story written by Alia Luria and it is the start of a new series. This book is a great start to Alia Luria’s introduction into the world of fantasy reading. It is a fast paced book that introduces the characters past and present rather quickly. The reader can grasp the plot of the book and not be confused when shown the past and the present.
As most fantasy story goes the Planet of Lumin is in grave danger and decisions must be made to ensure the survival of the planet. As with all decision that have to be made on their survival someone has to step up to make the hard choices even with knowing that the people will not like the choice. However, you have to do what is best regardless of what everyone else wants.
You will be introduced to quite a few characters throughout the book. There will be some that you automatically like, some you won’t, and some that will completely surprise you. I do not want to give anything away and spoil the book for potential readers. I will say that if you like fantasy that has romance, mystery, redemption, and betrayal then you will really enjoy this book. I can say that I am looking forward to the second installment of Compendium to find out what will happen with the World of Lumin and the Core.
