Review: Bragg V1

I received a copy of this book via the publishers Brash Books, in return for an honest review. Can I just say that I cannot thank them enough for bringing these amazing books of the late Jack Lynch to my attention, I have to say that his books are amazing, well-written, and the characters so believable.

This particular book has 3 of Lynch's amazing stories. His Bragg private investigator character gets himself involved in various cases and each one is excellent. I cannot pick a favourite out of these because each story is terrific, I could read the author's works over and over and over and never get tired of them.

I have chosen Die for Me to write about because it was his last novel.

I like Peter Bragg, he is a very likeable guy, but not without some issues. He was a reporter, who decided to become a private detective, his work is his life, he loves to get involved in a juicy case (the habit of being a reporter I guess).

On his last day at the newspaper years previously, he saved a woman who was trying to commit suicide. Now all these years later she contacts him, claiming she is a psychic and believes she is going to die at the hands of a serial killer. Of course, she wants to hire Bragg to help her. Bragg is unsure whether or not he actually believes what she says, whether he believes what psychics say, but he believes he should try to find the bodies she claimed to see in her vision. Based on the information she provides him, he recognises it as being Jack London State Park, and before long the bodies start being dug up.

Bodies are found with identification on them, cash, cards, personal items, serial killers usually have a specific type they go after, but from the bodies found there did not appear to be any particular type, young, old, male, female, crooks, there was a real mixture of corpses. Regardless of likeness to type, it is definite that there is a serial killer, now to find the link is going to be hard. So the hunt begins with the help of a female detective, to find the deranged killer. Can the psychic help him? you have to read to find out.

Terrific thriller, full of twists and turns, this was an excellent story, it kept me gripped all the way through. I am sad to think that Peter Bragg will not be around anymore, but Jack Lynch's memory lives on forever in his amazing characters.

A group of workers barreled past Jimmy with a piece of equipment, and he fell into her. She was pinned between his sweat-covered chest and the wall. Her hands were braced against his pecs, and her fingers curled into the hard muscles, testing their strength. The closeness of their bodies ignited another fire inside her, and she held her breath.

“Sorry, babe. You OK?”

His hands were flat against the wall behind her, imprisoning her between his taut arms. She looked from one tattooed bicep to the other, then her eyes went to his lips. She exhaled deeply, and her breath blew across his chest. She slowly looked up and met his eyes. They were magnetic and held her hostage. Review: The Secret Fire

This story is amazing, its mainly about Taylor Montclair, and Sacha Winters. Sacha has a habit of dying, at a certain time he will die again, but one person can save him and that is Taylor, but they have never met, and live such a distance apart that their meeting seems unlikely or is it? The terrible thing is that something deadly will do everything in its power to prevent the pair from meeting because Sacha has to die, she cannot be allowed to save him.

Can Taylor really save him? she has discovered that when she gets angry things happen that should not happen so she has to seriously learn to control herself, but sometimes things happen that she does get angry at, how will she handle that?

Sasha is French, and for some strange reason Taylor has been told by her teacher she is to help Sacha with his English, and Sacha has been told by his that he must let her tutor him. It is done online by video calling, so both agree even though neither thought it was necessary but to get their grades they agree to placate their teachers. It is later that Sacha realises there is something strange going on, he recognises Taylor's surname and does a bit of digging and things are definitely a bit fishy. Sacha informs Taylor that they could both be in serious danger and they have to meet.

I really enjoyed this story, the plot was gripping, the unexpected really kept me rooted to the spot. I loved how the pair interacted and how the plot developed. The shocks, the twists and turns were really terrific. I look forward to reading more of this Author's works.

Review: Bound For Nirvana by Kendra Leigh (release date 29th September 2015)

When I was offered the chance to read the Bound Trilogy I jumped at it as the teasers sounded terrific. This story is the last in the trilogy and I can say without a shred of doubt this was the best finale I think I have ever read.

Angel and Ethan's journey continues, their love grows, but still Angel holds back slightly she still is tortured by her past, but Ethan is determined to have his happy ever after. He takes Angel to meet his parents and it is there that Angel's whole existence is laid out before her, she finds her inner peace finally.

However, like all good stories there is still a lot more twists and turns after that visit to Ethan's parents, and the journey takes them almost to extinction.

I really was enthralled by this final part to the series, it had no EXPECTED parts, all of it was gripping and exciting, the sexual chemistry between them was depicted in such a way it blew my mind. All I can say about this series is YOU NEED TO READ IT and READ IT NOW!!!

Thanks so much to Kendra Leigh for allowing me the privilege of reading her terrific stories, she is now listed amongst one of my favorite authors, thanks to this amazing series. These were a pleasure to read and definitely unforgettable.

Review: Tribulation and Truths

Tribulation and Truths by L.A. Cotton

What a freaking fabulous series, I was hooked by the first few pages of book 1, and I have not been disappointed for a split second on any of the 3 books. The Story of Savannah (Ana) and Jackson has been one filled with such a variety of emotions that it is a wonder they survived, there is great sorrow, pain, misery, tears, laughs, loving, and so much more. I advise you to read the books in order so that you can totally follow them along this journey, through the good times and especially through the bad times. It is one of those stories that you cannot wait to finish, but you also dread it ending.

The author defines her characters in an exceptional way, Ana is at the start of the story a very withdrawn person but by the end of the series, she gets some spirit and fights for her happy ever after, although at times she did feel like giving up on their relationship. I really got each of the characters in the book, even the baddies, each had been described so well you felt you knew them personally.

A totally terrific series, and I was blessed to have been given copies in return for an honest review. I can only say DANG I AM A VERY LUCKY LADY to get these to read.

The main Character in this story is Finley and she is a forty-year-old southern woman, who is going through a divorce she never expected to have to go through. On top of all that she is now a single mom as well.

Finley's life changed forever when she returned from dropping her daughter off at Vanderbilt University for the summer session, she discovered her husband with her best friend.

Finley decides that she needs to file for divorce despite the fact that her mother is trying to make her just forgive and forget. According to Finley’s mother a good southern Christian woman does not divorce. I love that Finley does what is best for her and not what everyone thinks that she should be doing.

Finley's friend talks her into going back on the dating scene, and before long Finley gets a little confused because she now has three men that are chasing her. She has her ex-husband trying to win her back, her new younger man Josh, and her best friend and country singer, Quinton. What is a woman to do with three sexy men chasing you?! However, going through the divorce and interacting with the three men chasing her, Finley learns a lot about herself which helps her grow immensely. Who does she choose? Well, you better read the book and find out.

This book will have you laughing, crying, and get you going with the many characters. If you enjoy a light-hearted romance and like a strong leading lady then I highly recommend this book. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
