This book is terrific, the two main characters are Jules and her friend for years Scar. Jules had a romantic interlude with Scar when she was younger but right after he left her and vanished. This is where the story gets even more interesting when they meet again. Scar has spent his time breaking up relationships by showing the other party their partners are cheats, he is driven by his father's infidelity to his mother. Jules, on the other hand, has her own demons to cope with after Scar abandoned her she just went on a bit of a manhunt sleeping with every guy she could trying to find her Mr. Right.

I will not disclose anymore about this other than to say you really do need to read this, it is a fascinating and exciting read, I loved how the author's characters were so screwed up, but that they were actually honest and true to their beliefs. There is more than just a bit of hanky panky going on in this story, it has a great storyline, plenty suspense, shocks, and surprises. A must read.

Review: Pieces of Death

Pieces of Death by Jack Lynch

I absolutely love Jack Lynch novels, and Peter Bragg is one of my favourite Private Investigators. This is a terrific story, with enough twists and turns to spin your head.

What happens when a group of guys confiscate something during the war and share it out, little souvenirs that they think are worthless? Plenty happens, especially when those said souvenirs are found to be worth millions. Bragg is hired to meet one of the associates, and witnesses him being gunned down, even his response at shooting back does not prevent the death of the man he was meeting. Bragg soon finds himself embroiled in something big, something he is capable of dealing with of course but nothing is about to be smooth and plain sailing. There are more deaths, plenty leads to track down.

Really riveting read, I am so grateful to Brash Books for allowing me the honor of reading this in exchange for an honest review. Give me a crime book and I am in my element but give me one of Jack Lynch's and I am ecstatic, as his work is splendid, it is great that Brash are re-releasing them all!

Review: Awake

The beginning of the story is a little off-putting, (but don't let that put you off reading it) friends who are a bit OTT with their teenage comments which are a bit childish, new lad in town ends up being the source of Scarlett's attention after just meeting him. He was from the start off a bit of a nosey person so it triggered my brain into thinking this boy is up to something and something not going to be very nice.

This was one of those reads that after you ignore the niggles you get it does keep you enthralled, Scarlett Garner is the main character, a teenager who has no memory of her life prior to her being the age of four. This is something she finds hard to deal with. This part of the story irked me slightly because I really do not think most people remember things before that age, I know if I ask my kids do you remember we did this for your 3rd birthday party I get a blank look as if I am raving mad. So I think the Author would have been better just stating "her early childhood" but other than that and a few youthful type errors on the part of Scarlett, her friend and Noah the new boy, I found the rest of the story extremely interesting.

After a horrific car crash Scarlett starts to remember things, things that terrify her, and also endanger her life. Her parents have hidden things from her and she needs to find out what happened to her, but perhaps she will not be so happy when she does.

This ended up as a really story, I was sitting with the hair on the back of my neck stood up at times, it is an eerie spooky read, heartbreaking, but also there is romance thrown in (a bit of teenage lusting) to keep the book from scaring the pants off people. The Author has a great knack of keeping the readers interested, twists and turns, unexpected happenings and enough scary bits to keep us on our toes. I absolutely loved reading this book which I received a copy of in return for an honest review via the Author/Publisher and NetGalley, so I really have to thank them for allowing me the chance to read such an exciting story, but I had to be honest hence the first paragraph being a bit negative!!

Review of Reckless Surrender by R.C. Martin

MY REVIEW – 5 STARS

This is a nice long book, plenty of story going on to keep you enthralled, I particularly loved Daphne and Trevor, both with troubled pasts. Daphne found herself in a tricky situation which caused her parents abandon her and being religious and attending church regularly she turned to the church for help, but she was shunned by the congregation and she left the church and it seemed she left god too. Nursing her heartbreak she cuts herself off from her beliefs she ends up believing she is worthless. Trevor has had trauma in his life, he lost his grandmother and his brother and there are parts of that he cannot forgive himself for, so he too is another broken soul.

They have a bunch of great friends, and they both love each other as great friends. They don’t deserve love or to be loved in their own eyes, so how can their friends fix that?  Well. some devious plans are put in place and Daphne’s brother Roman is involved in part of the plot along with Logan her very best friend. Logan talks him into plotting to put Daphne and Trevor together as a couple rather than as friends. This is really a terrific story, very sweet at times, I loved how the characters all interacted, how realistic they were and how great their friendships were.

Review: Perfectly Equiped

This is my first time reading anything by this author and I can state it will definitely not be the last, I really enjoyed this although it is a rather short book, it has plenty going on and plenty great characters.

It is the start of a series so I cannot wait to get my hands on the rest of them, I can see it is going to be one terrific and exciting series.

Review: Off and Running

Jack Dillion is a writer, not a famous one rather down on his luck actually, but he is hired to write a story, a story about a famous comedian, who at the height of his TV career, just upped and left his extremely popular show, without an explanation to anyone, not even his adoring public.

So you would think meeting the comedian Walt Stuckey would be a simple thing, chatting to him, and writing the story? Wrong, nothing seems to be simple at all, Walt has a rather spoilt brat of a son named Garrett. Jack and Walt become good friends during their chats, and Walt invites Jack and his wife for the weekend which turns out to be the start of the trouble. Walt has a stroke, Garrett the brat sacks Jack, the memoir of Walt's life is canceled, and Walt is kept like a prisoner by the horrible son!!

Jack wants to finish the story, and he decides he will finish it, to do that he kidnaps Walt and takes off with him so that they can continue the memoirs. You may think that would be simple, but you would be WRONG things go from bad to worse, the story really picks up the pace. There are attempted murders, kidnapping, murders, comedy, laughs, it is such a diverse story that you cannot help but chuckle at times
